John, 4-16-11

Today I met John, John lives in Elkhorn, Montana which was a mining town established in the 1870's. John's house has been in his family for three generations and he decided to make the move ten years ago to escape LA and live a simpler life. He fills his free time by chopping wood, hauling water and snowshoeing.

Steven & Apollo, 4-15-11

Today I met Steven and Apollo, they were out enjoying the beautiful weather we had today. Steven is head of the security department at Target and his wife is a sophomore at MSU.

Bev, 4-14-11

Today I met Bev, Bev works here at MSU doing custodial work for the past thirteen years. Bev also reports the weather at MSU and has been doing that for the past six years. When Bev isn't working she is out walking and hiking enjoying the outdoors.

Kathryn, 4-13-11

Today I met Kathryn, Kathryn is the manager of the Water Of the Gods hot springs located in Norris, Montana. When Kathryn isn't working at the hot springs she is a goat farmer and a market farmer out of Gallatin Gateway.

Larry & Donna, 4-12-11

Today I met Larry and Donna, Larry builds guitars for a living and has been doing it since 1969, he has built guitars for Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Keb' Mo' to name a few. Durring the Disco age Larry had to build knives to support himself but eventually in 1990 he started making guitars again.

Bill, 4-11-11

Today I met Bill, Bill is Criminal Defense Lawyer here in Bozeman and in his free time an avid canoeist. Bill has canoed 169 month consecutively, and loves spending time on the water.

Lindsay, 4-10-11

Today I met Lindsay, Lindsay is studying Mechanical Engineering and works at the MSU's information desk, she was dressed up in 80's clothes for her last day of skiing at Bridger Bowl which closes tomorrow, sadly.

Teddy And Eli, 4-9-11


Today I met Teddy, and her little brother Eli. Teddy is in third grade and her favorite subjects are science and history. Teddy enjoys playing with her best-friend outside and with toy horses. I didn't get to talk to Eli much but when it came time to take the picture he wanted to be a part of it.

Dan, 4-8-11

Today I met Dan, Dan teaches Physical Education at Anderson Elementary School here in Bozeman. Dan also runs Blitz Soccer Association and is expecting his first daughter in five weeks.

Today I met Kristin, Kristin works in MSU's Bookstore located in the SUB on campus. You can find her in the Art, Architecture & Engineering Department of the Bookstore. She is super helpful and knowledgeable with all the materials. Kristin is a Painter and also taught art classes at Sacajawea Middle School here in Bozeman.

Today I met Josh, Josh works at the Loaf N' Jug by campus. Josh moved to Bozeman from Sheridan, Wyoming and enjoys hanging out and experiencing life. Josh is a unique guy he makes videos and post them on youtube, check him out at FuzzaMuzza.

Riley, 4-4-11

Today I met Riley, Riley was at the Duck Pond feeding ducks with his Dad and even sharing his bread with other people to let them feed the ducks too. Riley is six years old and currently attending Kindergarden, he enjoys drawing and painting because he gets to make stuff for his parents. When Riley isn't busy with school he enjoys spending time with his best friend Bridger and playing Ball Tag ( like regular tag but using a ball instead of your hand to tag the person).

Today I met Ryun, Ryun is thirteen years old and in 8th grade. His favorite subject is Science because of the experiments. He is looking forward to summer break and enjoys spending time outdoors in the parks and building model vintage cars.

Terry Brother of Eagle, 4-1-11

Today I met Terry Brother of Eagle, Terry is a Shaman and was attending the 36th Annual MSU American Indian Council Pow Wow. Terry is the author of two books available at lulu.com (The Calling of a Shaman and his Visions and The Calling of a Shaman: The Continuing Story), both of which he generously gave me as a gift. At age 58, Terry followed the callings to become a Shaman and has since been strongly involved with the Nez Perce.

Today I met Jim, Jim has lived in Bozeman his whole life besides the time he spent in the Army. Jim went to school at the Emerson building back when it was still a school house. Nowadays Jim enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and two dogs and riding his bicycle.

Today I met Finn, Finn currently is taking a break from school to pursue his love of skiing and traveling. Finn is from Placerville, California growing up close to Tahoe he has become a great skier and skies for Toy Soldier Productions and is sponsored by 4Front Skies and Electra Eyewear. He currently is gaining residency and plans on going back to school soon for English Literature.

Thia, 3-27-11

Today I met Thia, Thia lives here in Bozeman and works as a Gallery Associate at the Indian Uprising Gallery which focuses on Contemporary Plains Art. Thia got her MFA in Sculpture at MSU and has recently taken up photography again. Today, while walking her dog Ruby Eclipse, Thia was searching for interesting things to photograph that have been uncovered by the spring thaw.

Today I met Dan, Dan graduated from MSU with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was back in Bozeman for a long weekend of skiing and catching up with friends. Dan now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah working for IMFlash Technologies and putting his degree to work. Dan plans on doing a little fly fishing on his way back to Utah.

Today I met Kimo, born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. Kimo worked his way to the main land, finding his passion and work as a Picker (a person who find and sells collectibles or antiques), he eventually settled here in Bozeman in 1989. Kimo has seen the town transform and has a great story. I look forward to our future talks.

Today I met Anne, Anne lives here in Bozeman and was out enjoying the first days of spring with her dog Lupine. Anne is a Physiatric Nurse Practitioner and has had a private practice for the last ten years. During the summer you can find Anne and her husband sailing and enjoying Flathead Lake.

Today I met Larry, Larry has owned and run Somers Antiques located in Somers, Montana for the past thirty-two years. “ I got a little carried away,” he says with a massive collection of old bicycles, toys, art and furniture that your grandparents would remember. He restores things himself and if you find yourself in the area you should stop and say hello and take a look at all the great stuff Larry’s collected.

Today I met Rickard, he was born and raised in Sweden and moved to the states when he was twenty-one years old. Rickard works for Full Circle Exchange, a micro coffee roasting business that is housed inside Rembrandt's Coffee House in Eagle, Idaho. If you find yourself in the area stop by. The building is a converted church and inside you will find a warm and welcoming environment.

Today I met Zach along the Little Salmon River where he was fly fishing for Steelhead. Zach is a profesional fly fisherman and travels all over following the fish. He ties his own flies during the winter and travels year round selling them to fly shops and fishing along the way.

Today I met Lucy, Lucy has owned and run M&S Meats and Sausages located in Rollins, Montana for the last fifteen years. A lot of the business has moved to online sales but if you are in the area, be sure to stop by and pick up some jerky, it's the best.

Papa Jeano & James, 3-11-11

Today I met Papa Jeano and James, two retired fellows who were having a smoke, talking outside the VFW in Polson, Montana. Papa Jeano owned a construction company and James was an engineer for the railroads for twenty two years. Sorry for the late post I don't have the internet so I have to drive to town to post.

Today I met Bruce, he has been working for UPS for seventeen years here in Bozeman. Bruce enjoys hiking and biking when he has the time and the weather is nice, in his spare time he also refinishes old furniture and gives it a second life.

I met Martin today, he was out removing some ice buildup in his driveway. Martin works as a civil engineer here in Bozeman working for the HDRC (Human Development Resource Council) building houses for low income families. He is a very cool guy also he enjoys sailing during the summers up on Flathead lake and mountain biking whenever he gets the chance.

I met Katie today, she is a student at MSU getting her degree in art education to teach K-12 art classes. Katie moved to Bozeman a little over a year ago from Teton Valley, Idaho were she was teaching art at a private school and working on her own art wich consist of a bit of everything but she really enjoys making collages out of photographs.

Martha, 3-5-11

I met Martha today while out showing my friend Camas around Bozeman, Martha owns Encore - a mens' and woman's' upscale used clothing store located next to Bozeman Camera Repair. The store has all kinds of cool stuff including beautiful furniture. After retiring from the real estate world two years ago, Martha opened the store in an effort to help out people that were on a tight budget but also needed business-style clothes. Martha works with a non-profit organization that helps people through career transitions by providing them with nice, professional looking clothes.

I met Roger while out on a walk today, Roger is a very interesting guy he is a rancher, investor, conservationist and currently working on opening a new restaurant here in Bozeman. I had a really good time talking to Roger and look forward to running into him again.

Today I met Brian, he has been living in Bozeman for the last six years "the longest I've ever stayed in one place" he told me. A fellow gypsy, he has lived all over the place. Brian likes to draw and is learning about tanning hides, he hopes to make a pair of buck skin pants soon.

Hyalite Canyon Travelers, 2-27-11

I met the Only French Fry Crew today while out on a cross-country ski up in Hyalite Canyon. Mike(right) teaches english as a second language here at MSU and Josh aka, "The Hulk",(center) is a history professor at MSU and Chris(left) is a furniture maker here in Bozeman working mainly with wood.

I met Dillon(left) and Drew(right) today while packing up from the earlier ski trip, Dillon is a senior in the Philosophy program here at MSU and Drew graduated back in 07' with a degree in mechanical engineering and now works in engineering sales. They were getting ready to go ice climbing up on Dribbles route with some friends.
